A MAN is recovering in Proserpine Hospital after being attacked by a dog last night.

About 8.30pm, Queensland Ambulance Services paramedics were called to a Bloomsbury home following reports a man had been bitten by a dog.

A QAS spokesperson said the man, aged in his 20s, sustained multiple injuries.

"The patient was treated for several lacerations and transported in a stable condition to Proserpine Hospital,” the spokesman said.

It is unknown whether the animal was a wild or domestic dog.

It comes after a four-year-old Proserpine boy was mauled by a wild dog at Conway Beach last month along with a Bloomsbury woman.
