OPINION: Mayor's heart in the right place but wrong city

THE saying says if you want to get something done give the job to a busy man.

Mayor Paul Pisasale certainly falls into that category so it was no surprise to see him spring quickly into action the other morning when he received the following email:

I have a difficult situation with my business. I recently got married and we came to live in Ipswich.

I'm trying to find a place for business, which I did in Bury St, Edmunds. I do car window tinting. I am the master himself, a self-employed person; I have all the necessary tools and materials. There are clients who are waiting for me and I only need space. Perhaps you have a place for me, not far from the centre. Please help, Alex Falcon.

As we all now know the mayor never misses out on a business opportunity for Ipswich so he sent off a note to the council's Economic Development Manager, Laurie Mundt.

His request was simply, "Laurie can you make this happen?"

Mr Mundt went into action, but he soon discovered there was one major catch.

Alex Falcon, had just moved to Ipswich England, not Ipswich Queensland.
