MKR’s dessert queen dethroned thanks to soggy sandwich
A FLUSTERED Jane and Emma let time get the better of them on My Kitchen Rules tonight.
But the Melbourne flat mates managed to secure themselves a spot in the next round after beating Lynn and Tony's score for their instant restaurant.
The girls hit their first hiccup when they discovered figs, a key ingredient in their dessert, were out of season.
They didn't seem to get any good karma for stopping to let a swan cross the road while they were out shopping.
Rushing to make up time, they struggled to make simple parmesan crisps and knew they were serving up a hefty entrée.

"The dish needs more moisture… and if you wouldn't have told me there was eggplant on the menu I wouldn't have known it was there," judge Colin Fassnidge said.
They rebounded somewhat with their main course. The crispy skin of the salmon was partially spoiled by the salad they placed on top.
"Ladies you don't make things easy for yourselves," Colin said.
"Overall I thought it was an all right dish, so well done."
Adding to the pressure already felt by Emma, who had been labelled the group's dessert queen, Colin popped into the kitchen to tell them what a special place ice cream sandwiches hold in his heart.
Their fig and honey ice cream sandwich looked a treat but Jane's fears came true with the warn fig syrup crystalising the ice cream

"Ice cream sandwich is a treat I got when I was growing up," Colin said.
"Recently I've just been back to Ireland and that's what my mother gave me. It's a dish that takes me back to my childhood.
"And your dish tonight unfortunately didn't do that for me."
Brits Will and Steve will host their instant restaurant tomorrow night.
