Not enough evidence to investigate Peris email hack

THE Australian Federal Police says there is insufficient evidence to investigate Northern Territory Senator Nova Peris's claims her Commonwealth email account was hacked.

Senator Peris hit the headlines last year after News Ltd claimed she had used public funds to pursue a sordid affair with international athlete Ato Boldon.

NT News published a string of sexually-charged emails allegedly exchanged between the two, forcing Senator Peris to make a statement in the Australian Senate where she claimed she was the victim and her email had been hacked.

Senator Peris, who was former Prime Minister Julia Gillard's 'captain's pick' for the vacant NT Senate position, has denied the allegations.
