Over 700 attend university open day

CQUNIVERSITY has attracted over 700 people to an open day held across its City Centre and Ooralea campuses.

Information sessions and interactive activities were available throughout Saturday morning and included a robotic hand in action, virtual reality and accident forensics displays, a rock climbing wall, live music, and a jumping castle.

The university's deputy vice chancellor for engagement, campuses and the Mackay-Whitsunday region, Pierre Viljoen, said the day was a success.

"This is a key event on our university calendar and it was really special to see our staff all come together and engage so closely with the our visitors through the interactive activities, information booths and tours of our facilities.

"We now offer a broad range of qualifications that are attractive to many students. We're excited to see an increase of young people choosing to live, learn, and earn locally in Mackay and with us here at CQUni,” Mr Viljoen said.
