Proserpine kid doing well in the big smoke

BIG ACHIEVEMENT: Stacey Miotto graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.

STACEY Miotto was born and bred in Proserpine.

At the end of last year she graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree from the Queensland University of Technology.

The former Proserpine High School student is now working for the State Government in Brisbane.

Parents Peter and Judy were proud to attend the graduation ceremony last year and hoped Stacey's graduation was the beginning of a long and prosperous career in marketing.

Interestingly Judy said when Stacey was growing up she tended to be an arty kind of kid but believed the wise option was to study a more vocational course rather than pursuing the arts at university.

Stacey was sad to leave the town she grew up in but understood that to get ahead and to follow a business career it helped to be in thecity.

"You have got to go where the job is. She knew that and we knew that,” Judy said.

Judy said Stacey loved her new job and often visited her family in Proserpine during holidays.
