Prossie rider enjoys double success at State Champs
EQUESTRIAN: Tori Mansfield rode away from the Pony Club Queensland State Championships with her head held high after winning gold medals in two events.
Tori, 16, travelled to Maryborough between July 3-7 where she competed in the State Championships alongside more than 200 Queensland riders.
She competed in three disciplines, dressage, combined training and horse trials on her young horse, Cil Dara Churchill.
Tori and Churchill won gold in the Preliminary Dressage G1 after orchestrating three outstanding tests and personal best scores on day one and two.
They won their second gold medal at the Combined Training A2 on day three, which consisted of one dressage test followed by a 90cm showjump round.
A couple of stops on the cross country course on day five cost them three in a row, however the duo excelled during the showjump round.
Tori has been training with local coach Vanessa Torti since she was five and also works with jump coach Evan Parker, Ayr.
The talented teen has a bright future ahead having competed in seven state events since she was 10 years old and placing in the top five for all of them.
