A SOCIAL media push has been launched to stop controversial United States anti-vaccination campaigner Sherri Tenpenny from coming to Australia where she is scheduled to hold a series of seminars.

Brisbane-based anti-vaccine campaigner Stephanie Messenger has invited Ms Tenpenny to give a series of six seminars in March titled Healthy Lifestyles Naturally.

The seminars are scheduled for Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Ms Tenpenny, who is the author of Saying No to Vaccines, is heading to Australia with another controversial US anti-vaccination campaigner, Norma Erickson and Melbourne homeopath Dr Isaac Golden.

Pro-vaccine lobby group Stop the Australian (Anti) Vaccination Network took to social media urging its members to start a letter-writing campaign to politicians and venues hosting the seminars.

"We at SAVN have resolved to write to the venues hosting these events to let them know the true nature of the lectures," a post on the group's Facebook page said.

"We assert this tour represents a risk to public health and we will be making that clear to venue owners and politicians."

Ms Tenpenny has a valid visa allowing her to travel to Australia.
