Sign of support for rally
PROSERPINE residents Rob and Leanne Wilson are going bogan for a good cause.
The couple is joining friends from Gympie in the Car 66 Bogans team to take on the 2015 Great Endeavour Rally.
The rally raises "dust and dollars" for the Endeavour Foundation, a charity supporting Australians with a disability.
Last week Angel Signs finished outfitting the car with its sponsorship signage - about $2500 worth of work done free of charge.
Angel Signs owner Chris Angel said he was more than happy to help.
"It's a good cause and it's enjoyable to do," he said.
"It's an easy job and I'm happy to help out and get a bit of advertising out of it as well, especially because this trip actually comes to Airlie Beach."
Car 66 Bogans team member Rob Wilson said having the signage done for free was a huge help.
"All the money that we raise out of the raffles and donations goes directly to the Endeavour Foundation," he said.
"Anything like signage, if people aren't generous in doing it for free, we have to pay for it out of our own pocket."
The Bogans are busy fundraising and have a raffle set for later in the year but, in the meantime, Mr Wilson said he would be getting his new sponsorship signage out and about.
"You won't be able to help but notice us," he said.
There's quite a list of generous sponsors supporting the team, including Angel Signs, Jubilee Tavern, Fish D'vine, Island Gateway Holiday Park, Shirtfront Solutions, Cruise Whitsundays, Whitsunday Picture Framing and Gallery, Waters Edge Resort, Soupcan Stubby Holders, Airlie Beach Betta Home Living, Cane Country Tyres and Woodman's Mitre 10.
