This is what 100kg of methamphetamine looks like

A JAW-dropping 100kg of methamphetamine has been discovered by Australian customs and federal police, with authorities estimating its value at about $65 million.

The stash was inside a container that arrived in Sydney from China. It was declared as "Kids toys".

A team from Australian Customs and Border Protection Service found the container had a false floor, with a hidden compartment beneath.

"This compartment contained 100kg of a white crystallised substance.

"The crystallised substance when tested indicated a positive reaction to methamphetamine."

Two people -- a 30-year-old from Hong Kong and a 37-year-old Malaysian -- were arrested in a car park in the Sydney suburb of Prestons.

Customs and AFP officers targeted the area where the shipment was to be delivered.

AFP Acting Manager Serious and Organised Crime Arthur Moerman said the seizure showed how well Australian authorities worked together.

"Those that seek to import dangerous drugs such as methamphetamine will continue to face the combined efforts of Australian law enforcement partners," Acting Commander Moerman said.

Customs Regional Commander for NSW Tim Fitzgerald said it was a "complex concealment" that required Customs' "expert x-ray image analysis".

The pair faced court last week charged with importing large amounts of a border controlled drug, attempted possession and aiding and abetting its importation.
