Will Netflix launch in Australia on March 31?

AUSTRALIANS could be enjoying Netflix by the end of March if the latest reports are to be believed.

TechGuide.com.au is reporting that the popular streaming service will launch on March 31 with a three-tier pricing structure starting from $9.99.

But a Netflix spokesperson told APN it was just speculation.

"We do not comment on rumour or speculation. Details of the local Australian launch have yet to be announced."

If the rumouring pricing is true it would make Netflix, which has more than 53 million users globally, very competitive in the burgeoning local market.

This year Channel 9 and Fairfax are launching their own streaming service Stan, as are Foxtel and Channel 7 with Presto Entertainment.
